Happy, happy Friday!!
Writing: In writing this week, we finished up our poetry unit. Each student chose a couple of poems that they wanted to be published in our 4th grade poetry book. They all turned out great! Today we began our next unit on literary essays.
Reading: In reading this week we have continued to prepare for MAP testing by practicing test taking strategies and applying them to the books we are reading independently. Some of the topics we discussed were using text features and predicting answers before looking at the choices.
Math: This week in math we concluded our geometry chapter. The kids will take their test this afternoon. They seem to be enjoying this chapter because they have learned how to use protractors to measure and draw angles.
MAP Test Schedule
Our class will be testing on the following days:
4/18, 4/19, 4/20, 4/28, and 4/29
If your child does not already have headphones/ earbuds here at school please make sure to send a pair in before MAP testing begins. They will need them for certain sections of the test. If you are not able to provide them, please let me know.
